Band: JACK INGRAM
Album: “That’s A Man” Single
Label: Big Machine Records
After spending many years in countless clubs bringing his music to anyone and everyone that would listen to him, Jack Ingram finally broke through into the mainstream and there has been no looking back for him since. Single after single, “Wherever You Are,” “Love You,” “Lips Of An Angel,” “Maybe She’ll Get Lonely,” “Measure of a Man,” have all found their way to mainstream radio and charted, and Jack Ingram found himself a sought after artist and all of the success eventually earned him the ACM trophy for “Best New Male Vocalist.” So what do you do once you get to the top of your game? If you’re Jack Ingram you introduce mainstream country radio to your nex t single, “That’s A Man,” which has become his fastest rising single of his career and after just one spin it’s no wonder why. The lyrics on this song aren’t typically what you would expect from Ingram. They go a little but deeper than usual as he talks about all of the struggles, triumphs, heartbreak, etc… that a man goes through, which forges their characters and truly makes them a man. It is a simple lyric in that it is straightforward and not overly creative, but at the same time it is a well thought out and relatable for the every day, common man. The lyric is brought to life through Jack’s subtle delivery of the vocal while it is backed by the rockin’ country style that you’ve come to expect from him that has one foot on the current Nashville trends, but has the other foot knee deep in the Texas soil. This is a good, solid, single, that perfectly introduces Ingram’s new album to the public and will easily get people excited about the forthcoming release.
