Sometimes seeing your dreams come true is a twist of luck and fate all rolled into one. For Jayne Nelsen, her husband was on a business trip to Nashville and through his own intuition stopped off at WSM Radio with a demo of Jayne’s to get it played on the station and succeeded. That was all it took for her to dive full fledge into her music and now she has grown her dream into her debut album No Regrets. Tossing you into the album is the upbeat “Leave The Light On,” which instantly has you clapping along with the drumbeats as it pounds into the ultra pop-country song. Her vocal captures you as it sings from your speakers and it easily walks alongside and stands on its own amongst Faith, Shania, etc… She shows this mid-tempo more upbeat side of her several times throughout the album on tracks like “No Regrets,” “Real Bad Mood,” and “I Surrender.” She also never shys away from letting her voice and lyrics do the talking on ballads. “What It Really Is” takes a unique approach to showing people that things aren’t always as they may seem, while songs like “How I Wanna Love You” allow her to sing the lyric about letting your heart go and falling for someone that loves you with all they’ve got. While the song that started it all, “Are You Watching Me Now,” sees her sing a touching lyric to her father and wondering if he is watching over her as he did throughout her life as she rode a bike for the first time, got married, etc…This album is chalked full of modern country played with the enthusiasm and heart no matter if the song is upbeat or slower paced. Jayne Nelsen will easily be turning heads in Music City and before you know it mainstream country radio as well. Definitely an artist to keep an eye on.
